The 10 players with Solheim Cup experience own a combined 44-28-12 across 84 matches. Only Kupcho and Alison Lee carry losing career records. Eight of the 12 played on the winning 2024 side at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.
How Team USA Qualified for 2026

Auston Kim and Yealimi Noh sealed their points places at the Standard Portland Classic in mid August. Qualifying then closed after the CPKC Women’s Open on 23 August, and Stanford announced her three picks live on Golf Channel the next day.
Angela Stanford’s Captain’s Picks Explained
All three picks sat outside the world top 60 when the team was set, at No. 63 for Duncan, No. 66 for Zhang and No. 85 for Khang. Stanford chose match play history over current ranking. Khang and Zhang have a combined 11-5-4 in the event and both won in Virginia in 2024.
Lindy Duncan was the surprise. She is 35, has never won on the LPGA Tour and has never played a Solheim Cup. Stanford pointed to her putting and her consistency, with 14 top 25 finishes across the last two seasons. Duncan is the oldest American debutant since Nancy Scranton in 2000.
Jenny Bae, Ryann O’Toole, Jing Yan and Lucy Li were the highest ranked Americans left out. Lilia Vu and Lexi Thompson, who announced her pregnancy during the summer, also missed the team.

Nelly Korda (10-5-1)
World number one and a double major winner in 2026 at the Chevron Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open. Charley Hull beat her 6 and 5 in the 2024 Sunday singles, so a rematch is the tie most American fans want.
Angel Yin (5-3-1)
Back in the team room after missing 2024, with a winning record from 2017, 2019 and 2023. She is one of the longest hitters in the team, which matters on a par 72 that stretches past 7,400 yards from the back tees.
Jennifer Kupcho (3-5-2)
Her fourth straight Solheim Cup. Only Korda and Khang have played more matches in this American 12, and she is one of just two players here with a losing record.
Yealimi Noh (2-1-0)
Won two of her three matches as a rookie in 2021 and returns after a five year gap. Her low match volume gives Stanford freedom over where to use her.
Auston Kim (rookie)
The only rookie who qualified on points rather than needing a pick, and at No. 23 in the world she was ranked higher than eight of her teammates when the team closed. Kim posted four top 10 finishes in 2026, including a tie for fifth at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and a tie for ninth at the Evian.
Lauren Coughlin (3-0-1)
The only American here who has never lost a Solheim Cup match. She went unbeaten as a rookie in 2024 and clawed back from three down to halve the match that set up the winning point.
Allisen Corpuz (5-2-1)
A major champion with five wins from eight matches over two appearances. Corpuz has the second best win rate in the team behind Coughlin and qualified comfortably on points.
Andrea Lee (3-2-2)
Leads the LPGA Tour in fairways in regulation, the exact profile a captain wants in foursomes. She and Rose Zhang won their two 2024 fourballs by 5 and 4 and 6 and 4.
Alison Lee (2-5-0)
Took the last qualifying place after returning from maternity leave, with three top five finishes in 2026 at the Mizuho Americas Open, the Dow Championship and the KPMG Women’s PGA. She is the first mother to play for Team USA since Cristie Kerr in 2017, and the only player here who was also on the 2015 side that won in Germany.
Megan Khang (7-3-3)
Her fifth consecutive Solheim Cup and 7-0-1 across her last eight matches. Stanford picked her for the away atmosphere as much as the record.
Rose Zhang (4-2-1)
Went 4-0-0 in 2024 and became the first player to take four Solheim Cup points without a single match reaching the 17th hole. Her fourball pairing with Andrea Lee is the one partnership Stanford does not have to guess at.
Lindy Duncan (rookie)
The oldest player in the team at 35 and the least expected name on it. A tie for 61st at the AIG Women’s Open was her only made cut in a 2026 major, so the pick rests on her putting and her record of grinding out top 25 finishes.

Stanford is captaining for the first time. She won seven times on the LPGA Tour and took the 2018 Evian Championship at 40, in her 18th season. Her own Solheim playing record was 4-13-3, which is a rare thing in a captain and gives her a direct read on how a player feels after a bad session. The line on her CV that matters most this week is 2015. At St Leon-Rot she beat Suzann Pettersen 2 and 1 in the singles as the United States won 14.5 to 13.5. The Bernardus Problem
Bernardus Golf is a Kyle Phillips heathland design that opened in 2018 and plays to a par 72. It measures more than 7,400 yards from the back tees and will be set up shorter for the Solheim Cup, but it stays long, exposed and full of water. The Netherlands hosts the event for the first time.
The American answer is depth rather than star power.
