The 10 players with Solheim Cup experience own a combined 44-28-12 across 84 matches. Only Kupcho and Alison Lee carry losing career records. Eight of the 12 played on the winning 2024 side.
One number cuts the other way. Just five of the 12 have won on the LPGA Tour since the last Solheim Cup: Korda, Yin, Kupcho, Noh and Coughlin. This is a team built on match play history rather than current form.
How Team USA Qualified for 2026
- Seven places went to the leaders of the U.S. Solheim Cup points list.

Auston Kim and Yealimi Noh sealed their points places at the Standard Portland Classic on 16 August. Qualifying closed after the CPKC Women’s Open on 23 August, and Stanford named her picks the next morning.
Angela Stanford’s Captain’s Picks Explained
Stanford picked ninth, eleventh and thirteenth on the points list: Lindy Duncan, Megan Khang and Rose Zhang. All three sat outside the world top 60 when the team closed. She chose match play record over ranking. Khang and Zhang are a combined 11-5-4 in the event and neither lost a match in Virginia in 2024.
Duncan was the surprise, and the closest call. She held an automatic place for most of the summer before slipping to ninth, and she has never won on the LPGA Tour or played a Solheim Cup. Stanford said putting decided it: Duncan “edged out the other ones we were looking at”.
Jenny Bae was the highest ranked American left out at world number 67, ahead of Ryann O’Toole, Jing Yan and Lucy Li. Lilia Vu also missed the team. Lexi Thompson is absent from an American side for the first time since 2011 while expecting her first child. Stanford has settled on an alternate but has kept the name sealed in an envelope.

Nelly Korda (10-5-1)
World number one and a four time major champion after taking the Chevron Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open in 2026. Charley Hull beat her 6 and 4 in the 2024 Sunday singles, so a rematch is the tie most American fans want.
Angel Yin (5-3-1)
Unbeaten in singles across three appearances and back after missing 2024. She withdrew from the KPMG Women’s PGA in June and did not play again until the FM Championship on 27 August. She has said she will tell Stanford if she is not fit, because “the last thing I want to do is drag the team down”. She remained in the team as this page was updated.
Jennifer Kupcho (3-5-2)
Her fourth straight Solheim Cup. She was joint top scorer for the United States on her 2021 debut with 2.5 points. Her 2026 was quieter: a tie for eighth at the U.S. Women’s Open was her only top 10 in a major.
Yealimi Noh (2-1-0)
Returns after a five year gap having won two of her three matches as a 2021 rookie. She finished third at the 2026 AIG Women’s Open. Her low match count gives Stanford freedom over where to use her.
Auston Kim (rookie)
The only rookie who qualified on points. She was runner up at the HSBC Women’s World Championship and added two top 10s in majors, a tie for fifth at the KPMG Women’s PGA and ninth at the Evian.
Lauren Coughlin (3-0-1)
The only American here who has never lost a Solheim Cup match. She won the Aramco Championship in April by five shots. In 2024 she came from three down to halve with Maja Stark.
Allisen Corpuz (5-2-1)
The 2023 U.S. Women’s Open champion, with five top 10s in 2026. She and Korda have won all four foursomes they have played together, which Sky Sports rates the joint best foursomes record of any American pair.
Andrea Lee (3-2-2)
Leads the LPGA Tour in fairways in regulation, the exact profile a captain wants in foursomes, and she is unbeaten in singles. She and Rose Zhang won their two 2024 fourballs by 5 and 4 and 6 and 4.
Alison Lee (2-5-0)
Took the last qualifying place after maternity leave, with three top fives in 2026 at the Mizuho Americas Open, the Dow Championship and the KPMG Women’s PGA. She is the first mother to play for Team USA since Cristie Kerr in 2017 and the only player here from the 2015 win in Germany.
Megan Khang (7-3-3)
A fifth consecutive Solheim Cup and 7-0-1 across her last eight matches, a run that goes back to her 2021 singles win over Sophia Popov. She won all three she played in 2024. Stanford called her “the battery that makes us run”.
Rose Zhang (4-2-1)
Went 4-0-0 in 2024 without a single match reaching the 17th hole, joining Dottie Pepper and Morgan Pressel as the only Americans to take four points in one Solheim Cup. She backed the pick up straight away with a tie for fourth at the FM Championship.
Lindy Duncan (rookie)
The oldest player in the team at 35 and the oldest American debutant since Nancy Scranton, who was 39 in 2000. Her best major finish is a tie for second in the five player playoff at the 2025 Chevron Championship.

Stanford is captaining for the first time. She won seven times on the LPGA Tour and took the 2018 Evian Championship at 40, in her 18th season. Her own playing record across six teams was 4-13-3, which is rare in a captain and gives her a direct read on how a player feels after a bad session.
The line on her CV that matters most this week is 2015. At St Leon-Rot she beat Suzann Pettersen 2 and 1 as the United States came from 10-6 down on the final day to win 14.5 to 13.5, still the biggest Sunday comeback in the event’s history. Paula Creamer, now one of her assistants, won the last match on the course 4 and 3. Four people in the American camp were there: Stanford, Creamer, Lang and Alison Lee.

What Bernardus Asks of Them
Bernardus Golf is a Kyle Phillips heathland design that opened in 2018 and plays to a par 72. The card runs to 7,430 yards, and no Solheim setup length has been published, but the course stays long, exposed and full of water. The Netherlands hosts the event for the first time.
The American answer is depth rather than star power.
