Solheim Cup Records: Most Points, Appearances and Wins
Laura Davies owns the two headline Solheim Cup records. The Englishwoman played all of the first 12 editions between 1990 and 2011 and scored 25 points, both all time highs.
Annika Sorenstam is the only player within touching distance on 24, and she needed nine fewer matches to get there. The 20th edition runs from 11 to 13 September 2026 at Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands, and a few of these numbers are still live.

Davies passed Sorenstam at Killeen Castle in 2011, in a Saturday fourball alongside Mel Reid. Sorenstam was a European vice captain that week and watched it happen.
Volume explains the top of the list. Davies converted 54.3 percent of the points available to her. Sorenstam converted 64.9 percent and still finished a point short, because Davies played nine more matches.

Davies is the only player to appear in every one of the first 12 editions. Five players share second place on nine, and only Nordqvist among them played as recently as 2024. Suzann Pettersen was selected a tenth time in 2017 but withdrew injured before play, so her nine counts matches actually played.
Davies also holds a record nobody chases. She lost 18 matches, more than any player on either side. That is the price of playing 46 of them.

Sorenstam’s foursomes line is the most striking number on this page. Alternate shot punishes a mismatched pair harder than any other format, and she lost only three of 15.
Watch the wording on singles. Inkster leads on points with 7. On wins alone she is level with Catriona Matthew on six, and the two are clear of four players on five: Dottie Pepper, Paula Creamer, Meg Mallon and Laura Davies.
Pepper has the best American return overall. Fourteen points from 20 matches, including 5-1-0 in singles, beats every American above her on the points list.

Hedwall is still the only player on either side to win all five matches in a single week. A five point week has only been possible since 1996, when the teams grew to 12 a side and 28 points. The one exception is 2000, whose 26 point format capped every player at four matches.
Maguire’s 4.5 points at Inverness is the best debut in Solheim Cup history. No rookie on either team has bettered it, and the next best are Celine Boutier’s 4-0-0 in 2019 and a group on 3.5. She is back in the Team Europe side at Bernardus.

The 2013 result at Colorado Golf Club remains the most one sided in the event’s history. The 2015 comeback is certified by Guinness World Records as the largest in the series, measured from a four point deficit at the start of the final day.
Home advantage is the strongest pattern in the series. Thirteen home wins from 19 editions, five away wins and one tie is why the Netherlands staging matters for Europe.
Rare Feats and Age Records
There have been exactly two holes in one in 19 editions, both by Europeans. No American has made one.
- Anna Nordqvist, 17th at Colorado Golf Club, 2013 Saturday morning foursomes, 187 yards. The first in event history, and it closed out the match 2 and 1.
- Emily Kristine Pedersen, 12th at Finca Cortesin, 2023 Friday afternoon fourball, 178 yards. The second, and it squared a match Europe had been losing.

Which Solheim Cup Records Could Change in 2026
Four people in the two camps at Bernardus sit inside the all time top 15. Only two of them are playing.

Charley Hull is the one to watch. She has 16.5 points from 27 matches and can play a maximum of five this week. A perfect 5-0-0 would lift her to 21.5 and past Suzann Pettersen and Cristie Kerr on 21, into outright fourth. Catriona Matthew’s 22 needs 5.5 points, so it is beyond reach in a single week, and Davies at 25 is out of range for anyone in the field.
Carlota Ciganda matches Hull on 27 matches and is also making an eighth appearance. Five more each would take both to 32, enough for joint eighth on the all time matches list. Only seven players have played more than 32.
Leona Maguire is the standout on rate rather than volume. Her 8-3-1 converts to 70.8 percent, the best of any player in either team with 10 or more matches. Lauren Coughlin of the United States has a higher raw figure at 3-0-1, but from only four matches on her 2024 debut.
Nordqvist’s 18.5 is frozen. She ruled out playing when she took the captaincy and retired from competitive golf in August 2026, and Creamer is a vice captain on the American side.
Two team marks are in play. Europe’s last home win was Gleneagles in 2019, and their only home appearance since was the 2023 tie at Finca Cortesin, where they retained the trophy without winning it.
