Bernardus Golf is the host course for the 2026 Solheim Cup, in Cromvoirt near Den Bosch in the southern Netherlands. It is a Kyle Phillips heathland design, par 72 and roughly 7,430 yards, and it opened in 2018. This is the first Solheim Cup ever played in the Netherlands.

The Course
Kyle Phillips also designed Kingsbarns in Scotland, The Grove in England and Yas Links in Abu Dhabi. Bernardus is his heathland build, laid over 85 hectares of former agricultural land.
He planted gorse, heather and Scots pine across gently rolling mounds, which gives a young course the look of something much older. The bunkering is heavy and the water hazards are worked into the dune and heath backdrop rather than dropped on top of it.
The routing splits into three parts. The opening and closing holes frame the clubhouse, holes 2 to 8 run through water influenced ground, and holes 10 to 16 are the heathland stretch.

The 18th is the one to watch. It played as the most difficult hole on the course during tournament weeks, and in match play a hard closing hole decides matches rather than merely adding a shot.
The two short holes over water, the 8th and the 17th, are where Sunday singles tend to turn. A player one down standing on the 17th tee has to take on the carry.
How Bernardus Was Built
Robert van der Wallen, the Dutch businessman and PSV Eindhoven chairman, bought the land in 2015 and presented the plans that year. Construction started in early 2016 and the clubhouse followed, designed by Patrick Russ and Pieter Laureys.
The course opened in 2018 and moved quickly. It hosted the Dutch Open on the European Tour from 2021 to 2023, and in 2022 it was awarded the 2026 Solheim Cup.

Eight years from opening to staging the Solheim Cup is fast for any course. It also becomes the first venue to hold the PING Junior Solheim Cup in the same week, with the juniors playing on 7 and 8 September.
Where It Is and Getting There
Cromvoirt sits just outside Den Bosch, formally ‘s-Hertogenbosch, in North Brabant. Amsterdam is about 90 minutes north by road, and Eindhoven and Rotterdam are both closer.
The club is publicly accessible outside tournament weeks, which is unusual for a Solheim Cup venue. Several recent hosts, including St. Leon-Rot and Halmstad, are private.
For the match week itself, Bernardus Golf is closed to normal play and the 2026 Solheim Cup runs from 11 to 13 September, with practice and the junior event earlier in the week. Session times are on our schedule page.
